Renewing your auctioneer registration

All auctioneer registrations must be renewed annually. Make sure you renew your registration and pay the renewal fee before your registration expires.

Do you need to provide a new criminal record?

If you (or a person concerned in the management of your company) supplied us with your criminal record five or more years' ago, you must send us a new criminal record report during renewal this year.

This can take up to 20 working days, so make sure to request it from the Ministry of Justice well before your expiry date!

Step 3

Wait until you receive our invoice, then pay the renewal fee of $185 (incl GST).

What happens next

Once we receive your payment we’ll process your renewal application. This may take up to 20 working days.

Failure to renew

Your registration needs to be renewed every 12 months. If you do not renew your registration before the expiration date (you can find the expiration date of your registration on the Public Register), you'll be removed from the Auctioneers Register. If you want to continue in business as an auctioneer after your registration has expired, you will need to submit a new application.
